Maleic Acid · CAS 110-16-7
Maleic acid (cis-butenedioic acid) is a white crystalline solid or powder — one of the important unsaturated dicarboxylic acids, widely used as a basic organic chemical raw material. Melting point 130-131 °C; readily soluble in water and ethanol; it is the cis isomer of fumaric acid.
It is mainly produced by oxidation of benzene to maleic anhydride followed by hydration, or via the n-butane oxidation route, with purity above 99% and strict control of heavy metals and iron ions, meeting food-grade applications.
